Ah the age old question of “what came first? The chicken or the egg?” The line or the shoot? Well, in this case it was the shoot. Sometimes it’s easier to make a decision if you can see it on an actual shirt. With that being said, some of the sample designs pictured won’t be printed, but the rest will begin to drop in the coming months. Up first will be the “Wild Classic” tee, dropping for The Benjamin Bear pirate shop on March 2nd and 3rd (check the flyer in the previous post).

Emerging photographers, Mariana Sheppard and Nakeya Brown, will be exhibiting a new collection of photographs with Becoming Home . The exhibition features 30 photographs that aim to celebrate the often overlooked African American members of the community that has built, cultivated, and continues to maintain the grandeur along Louisiana’s River Road. Becoming Home opens Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 6pm to 9pm at the McKenna Museum of African American Art.
Hey Mari.
My sister from another mister, Mariana Sheppard has rejoined the digital age. *Crowd cheers* For those unfamiliar, I met Mariana back in undergrad at LSU circa 2007 in the quad (which would later become the official Students Against Class meeting spot). We didn’t know eachother, but I’d seen her work on Facebook and was already a fan before ever meeting her. She has a certain way of capturing things that typically go unnoticed by the average schmoe and also put my attempts at photography to shame. There was a fashion show coming up, the first fashion show for the brand actually, and I knew that I wanted her to shoot it as only she could. So I got my nerve, messaged her on the ‘book, and now she’s one of my best buds and indentured photog. Ha. In the words of Mr. West, “If you admire somebody you should go ‘head tell ‘em” and I’m already looking forward to more updates to the site. Go see for yourself and tell her The Dealer sent you.

Just Chill. (Photo)
I wish there were some sort of interesting backstory as to how/why we found ourselves in front of this place. Unless you consider getting lost and then joy riding to be a thrilling tale. We were actually looking for abandoned couches (don’t ask) before finding this baby so we stopped and snapped a few. Now let’s just hope Cador washed that shirt after this…
